Other dental services
This dental service consists of:
The sinus lifting procedure is a surgical intervention which is performed in order to allow the insertion of implants in the sinus area where there isn’t enough bone surface. It can be done in 2 ways, depending on the case: when only a minor lifting is needed, an internal sinus lift is performed. When a major lifting is required, the procedure must be external sinus lift.
Both procedures require an incision at the gum level, drilling into the bone until the sinus membrane is exposed, lifting it and inserting a bone and blood mix in the space between the jaw bone and the sinus membrane.
Through the bone graft procedures (with Bio-Oss/Bio Gide or the enamel matrix derivative technique) the damaged bone is repaired naturally so that it can successfully sustain the dental roots and implants thus extending the effects of the dental recovery treatments.
The results will be efficient from an esthetic and functional point of view for many years.
It is a surgical intervention to which it is resorted when the alveolar bone of the maxillary region is smaller than the implant we want to insert – the so called ridge horizontal augmentation which also requires the bone augmentation to cover up the existing defects.
It is a surgery which is performed individually or together (simultaneously/in parallel) with other complex surgery ( Gum tissue graft surgery – in paradontal treatments/ bone grafts – in block bone grafts simultaneously performed with dental implants/ sinus lift etc.)
Gum tissue graft
It is a surgery simultaneously performed with the dental extraction from the front/side which purpose is to keep the alveolar/bone volume by bone augmentation and membrane implant.
This dental procedure is performed by using Bio-Oss/Bio Gide or the enamel matrix derivative (Emdogain) technique.
The Inferior Alveolar Nerve Transposition technique becomes necessary in the case of missing teeth in the back molars or premolar 2nd zone, when bone atrophy is very advanced – the bone is thin. In this case, the inferior alveolar nerve, the one responsible for the sensitivity of the lower lip and the chin must be transposed to make room for the bone graft.
In certain cases, due to the high level of dificulty because of the wisdom tooth positioning which can be included or partially included depending on the situation, the bone augmentation is required and recommended (PRGF / Bio-Oss/Bio Gide)
Depending on the zone, size, cyst extension the bone augmentation is required.
The periodontal inflammation of the natural tooth is called periodontitis and the periodontal inflammation of the implant is peri-implant. One of the ways of treating it is the laser intervention.
This procedure is the surgical intervention performed when the infection is at the tooth’s root tip. It is minimally invasive and in some cases Piezosurgery can also be used.
Not performing the dental treatments in time can lead to the infection spreading to the bone and the bacteria resulted from this ca be dispearsed to other organs through the circulatory system and it can affect the heart muscles.
Some infections left untreated through apical resections can result in the forming of a cyst. The cystectomy is removing the cyst through a surgical intervention. In some situations, the bone tissue might require bone and membrane filling in order to speed the healing process.
The bone tissue can be filled with BIO-Oss, BIO- Gide or the enamel matrix derivative (Emdogain) technique
This is the procedure which aims to remove a foreign object or radicular leftovers in the bone which are already causing an inflammation.
Before extracting the wisdow teeth it’s recommended that, taking into account the result of the X-ray, their position to be determined. Thus it must be established if their position is correct or not. In the case of lower wisdow teeth it must be checked whether the extraction and the augmentation with the enamel matrix derivative (Emdogain) or Bio-Gide, Bio-Oss is necessary.
The procedure can be performed with local anesthesia. There are 3 frenes the mouth cavity: under the tongue, attached to the cavity plateau, between the gums and the lower lip and between the gums and the upper one.
The frenectomy can be done together with the frenoplasty: the surgical method of correcting short and thin frenes.
The operculectomy is the procedure which takes place to help the wisdom tooth erupt. It is performed under local anesthesia and it entails removing the gum which covers the wisdom tooth and hinders it from erupting.
The operculectomy can be done in the following situations: if the wisdom tooth is only covered by the gum, if the wisdom tooth’s position is favourable for a successful eruption without disturbing the neighboring teeth.
The apical resections and the wisdom teeth extractions or the extractions of some radicular left overs which cannot be done with the pinchers – can be performed with the piezosurgery and they are less traumatic.
All interventions are possible in ATI as well.
